About BarCamp Manchester

BarCamp Manchester is an unconference that every attendee is allowed to participate in, much like anyone can have a blog, or can edit Wikipedia. The distinction between speakers and listeners is blurred because if you are attending, you will be speaking too. Sessions become less like lectures, and more like conversations.

The BarCamp was at one time primarily a tech conference, but has now expanded to include a diverse range of attendees. In 2014 our attendees included professionals, hobbyists, developers, designers, teachers, students, engineers, technicians & more, and we had a 35/65% split of female to male attendees, and an age range of 12 to 60+.

People travel from far and wide to attend Bar Camps and they happen once a year or so, last year, BarCamp Manchester was attended by 160 people across the 2 days, and was a very successful event.

This year we want to go bigger and better, we hope to invite up to 300 attendees across the weekend, and we have a fantastic venue with custom purpose meeting rooms, high speed wifi, a large canteen and breakout area, and much much more! Even though we had hugely positive feedback last year on the food provided and swag on offer, we still want to go better this year and that’s where our amazing sponsors come in……..

Benefits of Sponsoring

BarCamp Manchester is coming to 2015 off the back of a very successful event in 2014, and this only means that we can expect more people, and more hype this time round.

Everyone knows that attending exhibitions and conferences is a great way to network, make new connections, and meet potential new clients, so why not extend that to actually sponsoring the event? We have a variety of sponsorship levels to suit all budgets, and we have so much that we can offer you.

Sponsoring a BarCamp can help you build credibility with your target audience. By taking a stand at the event and being able to display your logo around the venue we can help you build brand recognition and stand out from the crowd in front of up to 300 attendees from tech community. Sponsors will also have the opportunity to provided branded merchandise for all our attendees to take home and show all their other tech minded friends and colleagues who may not have been able to attend the event. We can also help to increase your media exposure, as all sponsors will be featured on our promotional materials, including our website, posters, social media accounts, tickets and mailers, and don’t forget, we have many more people we can reach out to by social media and mailing lists as well as those in actual attendance.

We also encourage our sponsors to get really involved in the event itself, to make the most of the opportunity. All our sponsors are encouraged to provided branded ‘swag’ for attendees, we require a multitude of items, and if your logo isn’t featured prominently, then someone else’s might be. It’s also up to you how to make your presence stand out, a well branded sponsorship table with a good reason for attendees to visit it goes a long way! If you decide to come on board as a sponsor, we can help you get the most of your package over the course of the weekend, and as an added bonus, if you have a product or service that can be utilised at BarCamp then we can help you gain direct exposure in the lead up to or during the event!
